It’s where many important meetings and public announcements were revealed. This history is still curved in the surrounding architecture, streets and medieval remains. The hill is listed as a Swiss heritage site of national significance.
The square is surrounded by the old town, the river Limmat, and many Linden trees, which make it an escape from the automobiles and busy city.
