Ohlsdorf Cemetery

The Ohlsdorf Cemetery is not like any other cemetery, it’s the largest green space in Hamburg, the largest rural cemetery in the world, and the fourth-largest cemetery in the world.

Expended over an area of 400 hectares, the cemetery includes about 450 species of trees and plants and many basins and ponds. There are about 17 kilometers of streets and paths for pedestrians, bicycles and cars.

The cemetery includes graves of war victims from various nations, Memorials for the victims of Nazism, cemetery museum, and other sites and memorials.

Note that there are two bus lines running through the cemetery, line 170 and 270.

The cemetery is one of the most popular landmarks of Hamburg with its Notable burial sites, memorial, and greenness.
