Tate Modern showcases a splendid collection of contemporary art from the world.
It houses the national collection of British artwork and many pieces from different countries dating from 1900 to present. The displays includes masterpieces of the talented artists: Rothko, Cézanne, Matisse, Picasso, Bourgeois, Pollock, Bonnard, Warhol and Dalí.
Located in the Bankside Power Station of London Southwark, visitors can admire from the top spectacular panoramic views of London skyline and the River Thames.
The main collection is spread over 8 areas by topic or theme: Start Display, Artist and Society, In The Studio, Materials and Object, Media Networks, Between Object and Architecture, Performer and Participant and Living Cities.
The admission to Tate modern is free for the permanent collections which contains the majority of exhibitions. However, you need to get a ticket for the temporary collections, events and films.
