Thean Hou temple is a large Chinese temple on the top of Robson Hill. It was built in 1987 by the Hainanese community as a temple devoted to goddess Tianhou to protect fishermen and to worship Guan Yin, the goddess of mercy.
The six tiered buddhist temple is formed of four floors. On the first level, there is a beautiful souvenir shop. On the upper floor, there are charming Chinese wedding dinners. The third floor is occupied by the administration offices and marriage registrations. The upper deck organizes most of the cultural events, celebrations, birthdays of numerous temple gods and religious activities.
As the Thean Hou temple sits on a hill, the upper decks offers great views of the city as well as of the colorful dragons and phoenixes decorating the eaves.
