The UEFA Euro is a 4-years cycle championship. It’s the second most watched sport event after the world cup.
The UEFA Euro 2016, or simply the Euro 2016 will be hosted by France this year. After two successive seasons of victory for Spain, this 15th edition of the Euro 2016 will be very competitive and exciting. Will it be the 4th championship for Spain or Germany, or will the host country France take it away?
53 teams have participated in the qualifying competition, and only the best 24 teams are in the final tournament. This is the first time as many teams are in the finals, up from 16 teams last tournament.
The teams will be divided into 6 groups (from A to F) and each group contains 4 teams. As being the host, France has been automatically qualified to the final tournament with other 23 team.
With over 8.1 billion people watched the Euro 2012 matches on TV, the audience of 2016 cup is expected to exceed all numbers: 2.5 million people in stadiums, 1 million foreign visitors, live broadcast in more than 230 countries and 150 million live TV spectators for each game.
