Untersberg mountain is a massif of Berchtesgaden Alps where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Salzburg . It’s a natural border between Salzburg in Austria and Berchtesgaden in Germany.

Untersberg is the favorite destination of Salzburg tourists for outdoor activities. During winter, the fabulous mountain attracts winter sport fans to experience the pleasure of snowboarding, ice-skating, Skiing or sledding.

During summer, the mountain is very popular for hikers, paragliders and climbers excited to reach the Berchtesgadener Hochthron at 1,973m. This peak is the highest of Untersberg mountain and became very famous since it represented the opening and ending of movie “sound of music” in 1965. The remarkable landscape promotes an exceptional view of the stunning ice-capped Hohen Tauern mountains and Salzburg lake district.
