How to get to Versailles castle:
You can take the bus 171 from Pont de Sèvres Métro station to get the Palace or SNCF Trains from Paris Montparnasse or Paris Saint Lazare stations but the easiest and fastest way to go there is to to take the RER. The journey duration is 40 minutes.
- The RER C (Yellow line) runs to Versailles-Rive Gauche. You should stop at Versailles-Rive Gauche at zone 4.
- The palace is 6 minutes walking distance from the station.
- Metro ticket t+ is not valid for zone 4, you need to buy a one way ticket for €4,10.
- A one day pass to zone 4 become worthy in this case.
Another option is to take Versailles Express coach. It’s a private service that offer transfers from the palace to the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The bus departs at 8 and 2 pm and back 12 and 6 pm from Tuesday to Sunday. Check the prices and book at the Versailles Express website.
